Social

It can be Lonely suffering from Depression or CFS, when you are tired or feeling low your instinct is to hibernate away from friends and family.

Here are a couple of sites that can help you stay in touch with little effort and to meet others with the same condition.

  • FACEBOOK

There are other social networking sites out there but Facebook still remains the most popular. Obviously it helps if your friends are on there but once you start you will end up finding old friends, work collegues and family you havent seen for years. Its easy to use and there is alot of fun to be had, from playing poker with your mates to trying out quizes to see how alike you are. Upload photos to share and join in groups of like minded people. I have joined 2 different CFS groups in which you can chat with others, start topics on the discussion boards and you can even start your own group if you want to.

  • FOGGY FRIENDS

This site is for anyone who has been touched by CFS/ME and /or Fibromyalgia. I have been a part of Foggy friends for a while and even at my worst I will pop online and read the supportive posts from other members around the globe. The Forum is a wealth of help and support, but you need to sign up before you can read any of the discussions. There is a chat room which you can use after a period of joining. It free and easy to join.

  • POSTPALS

Set up by a fellow ME sufferer this site/charity has been set up for very ill hospitalised children. You can go onto this site pick a child and send them messages through email and post. I think this is a wonderful idea and allows those of us with time on our hands to give support to others who need it.
